YOU Can Make A Difference !

In an effort to reach out to the community, the Scruggs Opry House will be collecting donations of canned food items to be distributed by the Belmont Community Organization (BCO) to local families in need. Bring canned food items to JAM Sessions and shows and know that you are helping people who are having a difficult time making ends meet ! This is something we can do to make a difference ! Your participation would really be appreciated....think of how much food we could donate if everyone dropped off a couple cans each time they came ! We'd like to have a really good donation by the first of December (or earlier if possible !) We tend to think of these things around the holidays, but people are in need every day. Thank you for considering helping out on this food drive !

her family includes a young son and daughter, as well as her parents, sister, and
extended family. We rejoice that she is safe with the Lord, but she will really be missed here. Thank You.

Friday MAY 9th at 7:00 PM we welcome REVONDA ROBERTS & HARVEST WIND to the Opry House.
Revonda Roberts and Harvest Wind are a Multi-Dove Award nominated 6 member bluegrass gospel group. They received a 2008 SPBGMA nomination for Bluegrass Gospel Group of The Year. Their last cd, "Ancient of The Days" lifted the bar in the bluegrass gospel genre. It was so well received among gospel and bluegrass radio that songs continue to remain on well respected music charts. Their music crossed genre lines, landing on country gospel charts as well as bluegrass and southern gospel charts. This band is known for its original material and captivating sound.
They won a statewide talent search that earned them an appearance on the legendary "Carolina Calling / Authur Smith television program. The show that they were on still appears on television. Additionally, they have been booked at New York City's Lincoln Center and Silver Dollar City and have played SPBGMA in Nashville, TN several times. They have played with just about every bluegrass group in the field today. Their music has often been selected as bluegrass association theme songs and helped to launch radio stations all across the country. The band is in such high demand that they book nearly a year in advance. They also do their part in the community playing for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Hospice and Special Olympics.
They were the highest selling artist with their first record label and when they signed their next recording contract, their music became international. With no signs of slowing down, this group is preparing to have their fifth cd titled "Stillwater" coming out Spring 2008.

Please bring the neighbors and enjoy a night of good bluegrass gospel at its very best.
