Happy New Year !! We hope everyone had a safe and happy Merry Christmas !
Join us on Monday January 4th for the monthly JAM SESSION !! The door opens
about 6:45pm and the jam runs 7:00-9:00pm. There is no admission fee on JAM
nights and you can come to play or just come to listen. JAM SESSIONS are open to all levels of musicians - beginner to advanced welcomed. Also, our snack bar will be open with all items just $1 - thanks for supporting the Opry House ! We look forward to seeing YOU there !

Kevin Richardson & Cuttin' Edge Saturday, December 5th @ The Opry House

Coming Saturday, December 5th the Scruggs Opry House would like to welcome Kevin Richardson & Cuttin' Edge. This group is formed from the current Larry Stephenson Band. Larry Stephenson is taking off a couple of months while his band members Kevin Richardson and Josh Greene are forming the band "Kevin Richardson & Cuttin' Edge" to keep them busy the next couple of months. Other band members are Scott Burgess, Jimmy Fraley, and Milom Williams.
You better get to the Opry House early to get your seat. This is going to be a great night of bluegrass and gospel music.

JAM SESSIONS run 7:00 - 9:00pm and you'll find we have a very relaxed atmosphere, with a
terrific mix of new and "seasoned" musicians ! We had some new folks at the last jam session
and we hope YOU will join us as well. There is no admission charge on JAM NIGHTS, but
the snack bar will be open with old-fashioned bottled Cokes, hot coffee, candy bars, chips, etc.

October Jam Session....

Our next BLUEGRASS MUSICIANS' JAM SESSION will be on MONDAY OCTOBER 5th from 7:00 - 9:00pm. Make plans now to join us ! Remember, no admission charge on JAM NIGHTS ! Everyone is welcome, whether you're playing or listening, so drop by and enjoy some bluegrass music ! Beginner - to - advanced musicians invited.

Don't forget !! The JAM SESSION will be MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14th, due to Labor Day falling on our normal "1st Monday". Join us from 7:00 - 9:00pm for some spontaneous bluegrass music ! Always open to musicians of all levels of experience. If you're an "old dog" we NEED YOU to come teach these young guys a thing or two, and if you're a "newbie" this is EXACTLY where you should be !! We host a very relaxed and open session where everyone can take part and have a good time ! NO ADMISSION CHARGE ON JAM NIGHT !!
However, the snack bar will be open and we ask you to support the Opry with your purchase of a cold old-fashioned coke or a hot coffee....cookies, candy bars and chips too ! We look forward to seeing you ! Thanks !

August 29th.....

We're happy to welcome first time visitors TOBY CREEK Band to the Opry House on Saturday August 29th ! We hear good things about these guys - maybe you've caught their shows in Dallas - and we're excited to invite you out to enjoy an evening of great music with us ! As always, the door opens at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:00pm. Adult admission is $8 and kids 10 & under get in free with a paying adult. DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE !! If you've never been to the Opry when this bluegrass gospel band is here, don't miss this show ! You will not be disappointed !

Then, on Monday September 14th......our MONTHLY MUSICIANS' JAM SESSION !
We've moved it a week due to Labor Day being on the first Monday of this month. The door still opens about 6:45 and the JAM runs from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Remember, there is never an admission charge on JAM NIGHT ! However, the snack bar will be open and we appreciate your purchases, which help keep the Opry up and running ! ALL MUSICIANS ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED TO BRING AS MANY INSTRUMENTS AS THEY PLEASE ! We had a great turn out at the August JAM and we're looking forward to this one......beginner - to - advanced welcomed !

JULY JAM SESSION.........

While you're sitting near the air conditioner watching the corn grow out the window don't forget the next BLUEGRASS MUSICIANS JAM SESSION will be held on MONDAY JULY 6th beginning at 7:00 p.m. !! The door opens at 6:45 and we hope you'll join us for a relaxing night of spontaneous bluegrass music. We welcome young and old, newbies and pros, beginner to advanced musicians and also anyone who just wants to drop in and listen for a while ! If you play more than one instrument, please be sure to bring more than one (that way we can split up into smaller groups, or not just have 8 banjos and 6 mandolins ! ) This is a great opportunity for beginning musicians to pick up some tips from more experienced pickers, and a good chance to show off the latest thing you've learned. Ladies - it's not just a boys' night - wives and lady musicians are encouraged to attend ! Remember there is NO ADMISSION CHARGE on Jam Nights......however the SNACK BAR will be open and we appreciate your purchases (which help to keep bluegrass in Belmont !). Pastor Fred Murphy....

Please remember the family of Pastor Fred Murphy, who passed away last week. He was a wonderful, kind man, a Pastor in the Presbyterian church for over 50 years, and also a bluegrass musician. (Brother to Dewey and John.)

We're sad to report that the March 7th performance by REVONDA ROBERTS & HARVEST WIND must be POSTPONED due to a death in Ms.Roberts' extended family. Please keep this family in your prayers. Saturday, February 21st CONSTANT CHANGE is back at the Opry House. Constant Change are becoming one of the best rising stars of Bluegrass music today. They are being featured on the PBS show SONG OF THE MOUNTAINS LIVE AT THE LINCOLN THEATRE IN MARION, VA on May,16 2009. Come early and get your seat.
